Synopsis:
Adlay Kaa..? which loosely translates as ‘Is it stopping you..?’ is an official adaptation of a German play written by the celebrated, contemporary Swiss playwright Charles Lewinsky.
Albrecht is a part of the ensemble of theatre artists which is associated with an old theatre in an upmarket part of the city. He has received classified, but concrete, information that the city council is on the verge of suspending the budget of the ensemble, based on the report prepared by a reputed management consultancy firm. He has lured the person who has prepared this report under the pretext of a sweet business deal. Being a hard-core theatre artist that he is, Albrecht has played out their future conversation in his mind and is ready to face his nemesis and change his mind. Instead he is shocked to see a young girl in her mid-twenties arrive at the theatre. His task gets even harder when he realizes that this prodigy is not a theatre fan at all and slowly he understands the horror of trying to explain the romanticism of theatre to a person obsessed with numbers! What follows is an interesting dialogue, which brings to the core, the points of view of two diametrically opposite characters about theatre. They delve into their past to understand how to deal with the deadlock they are in and who is on the right side.
