Synopsis:
CHAKRA is the struggle of the ancient man. Set in a pre-historic era, it gives an insight oin a fantastic way into the life of the pre-historic man. The way he evolved, his battle to survive, his hunger to explore and learn, which has never diminished. It fantasizes about the invention of the wheel, the importance of which he might not even have realized at that time. The USP of CHAKRA is that it does not use any language at all, as it is set in a period in which man did not even know language. The minimal dialogues are spoken in gibberish. The play is a completely music and dance oriented performance.
CHAKRA is the story of a lifecycle, the story of evolution, discovering human emotions, which has helped man see the light of the 21st century.

Writer's Note:
Our play chakra is based on prehistoric age which is a melange of both our creativity and actual knowlegde of that era. It is also based on the essence of man's first feeling about birth, death, love, lust, adventure, survival, being alone, being together and several other factors. To give it a thought almost everything originates from nature and nature can also cause the end. Feelings give birth to reactions whether voluntary or involuntary. In those times man made use of his five senses to interact with nature to the maximum extent trying to make survival easier.
Director's Note:
This play has been explored and experimented wholly on the basis of improvisational technique, taking into account all the possibilities, perspectives and knowledge of the whole crew. When we thought about this concept i knew we were trying to explore a whole new world which we had never experienced but i also knew that we could imagine and develop it. In the process of this exploration we tried several exercises which helped us feel bodily similar to the animals and also to react, like animals might do in various situations. These improvisational techniques also helped us modulate our voices and adapt them closer to the cries of animals and birds in the jungle. We also tried to communicate and develop a language of our own through these exercises.
