Director's Note:
I heard D.M.Mirasdar’s ‘Dalan’ for the first time around 8 years ago, when I was in school. The moment it ended, I knew I wanted to be associated with it in some way or the other. It was my first meeting with any of Mr. Mirasdar’s work. I was planning to direct it since the past 3 years, experimenting with different cast of actors in my mind. But it was not until last year that I finally decided to stop the mental play and get practical. The process was very interesting too. It started off like any other production-with a lot of enthusiasm and excitement. Slowly, it started waning from my side as the process was taking the shape of every other of my productions. I wanted this to be different, as I knew the story deserved something better. Abhay’s dramatization too was asking for something different. So one fine day, when we were sitting in a circle, we hit upon the idea of doing a musical. Nothing new in the concept, I agree, but we had a proven young-blood music director named Gandhaar and a trustworthy friend and lyricist-Rohit.It was that moment which changed the entire mood of the practices. The fun which we had continues till date and grows with every show!
