Synopsis:
“Insecurity, complex, pollution, money, cell phones, drugs, orkut, facebook, relationships, manners, ethics, love, parents, pressure, sex, freedom, capitalism, education , dependance, awareness, guilt, communication, happiness, confusion...
Why do I do the things, which I do?
I think rubbish. I feel rubbish... Who am I?
I am not a hardcore rightist, nor a leftist. Not even a orthodox brahmin nor a suppressed dalit. Not a gay nor a part of the minority, not a lefty, or mentally ill..
Who the hell am I? Just a oversensitive guy.. confused.. trapped!
Where do I go.. ? What do I do? Will drugs help? Or should turn a blind eye? That wont help, I have tried.. I have tried everything.. Everybody has tried everything..”
Straight out of the minds of 21 year olds. The story of a youngster who finally goes to a reality show which is there to create an extremist, terrorist young force..
Is it fundamentalist? Religious? Regional? Certainly not!
Exactly what happened with the young parents, involved in liberal, leftist, socialist movements in and after the 1975 Emergency? What happened with the concept of a free, secular, liberal and ideal nation worth to give a birth to a child?? What happened with the values and ethics which they expected from their previous generation of freedom fighters?
What exactly did happen in the last 21 years...

Writer's Note:
Hot sunlight. Tremendously hot. Heavy traffic. Everybody wants to go ahead. Horny, desperate faces; everybody wants to go ahead of everybody. Everybody wants to be a winner. (In terms of whom? Shiv Khera?) But everybody wants to win.Beggars with torn clothes and handicapped on one side, giant malls, glossy decoration. People desperate, greedy for ‘depression shopping’. And me.. everybody like me dumbly driving our bikes. Without thinking anything about it.
Isn’t it strange?
Isn’t watching porn dangerous? Everybody my age does that.
So what’s the reason?
Loss of ideology? Capitalism?
Rising amount of opportunities and less time?
How to fight with it?
Fight with whom? Nobody? Or a virtual power?
Maybe the reasons are hidden in history. So what is in the past?

I couldn’t resist myself. I couldn’t remain calm. I couldn’t sustain the impatience, and that is why I wrote this play.

Director's Note:
When I heard the script of "Geli Ekvees Warsha" I realised that I am going through the same phase that the protagonist in the play is going through. I saw it as an opportunity to analyse my own thought process and do something which I could completely relate to. This was my main motivation for directing this play. Also, there is a randomness in the play, which is present in our lives in which both the logical as well as illogical elements are present and remain with us at a realistic as well as unrealistic feel and we have no choice but to live with it. The play progresses in the same way our own thoughts and lives progress. The most fascinating part of the whole process was working with all the different non-linear random units and trying to club them together. "Geli Ekvees Warsha" is a team effort and each and everyones' thought is reflected in it.
