Synopsis:
This play unravels the journey of a writer who is moved by the poems of Mirza Ghalib and decides to write a play on his life. The lives of the writer and Ghalib run parallel sometimes. They intersect sometimes and can be seen affecting each other. Ghalib depicted in the play borders between historical Ghalib and the writer’s personality. This play shows a mixture of inspirations for writing the play, Ghalib’s life, his poems, his confusions in life, he defeats faced by Ghalib and the writer and in act most of the pilgrims on the spiritual path, the art forms emerging from his frustrations and those same art forms distracting him from the spiritual path, and the desolation faced because of all this. The writer and Ghalib seem distinct at times: co-travelers at times and almost seem united at times. However, Ghalib, a martyr, on the spiritual path accompanies the writer on this same, yet new journey.
